Jahreshighlight!
Das Buch behandelt ein Thema, dass noch immer tabuisiert wird und hat mich dadurch umso mehr angesprochen. Das Konzept einer offenen Ehe, gerade so wie Daphne und Dominic, die beiden Protagonisten, es für sich definieren ist sehr interessant und hat bis zum Ende des Buches einiges an Spannung bereitgehalten. Der Schreibstil von Hannah Sloane hat ebenfalls dazu beigetragen, dass ich nur so durch die Seiten geflogen bin.
Die wechselnden Sichten von Daphne und Dominic waren sehr aufschlussreich, um die Handlungen von den Beiden nachvollziehen zu können und meiner Meinung nach, hat die Dual-POV dazu beigetragen, dass das Buch so gut funktioniert. Es war sehr unterhaltsam und auch lehrreich die Beiden über die Jahre hinweg zu begleiten und dabei zusein, wie sie erwachsen werden, ihren Weg gehen und ihren Platz finden oder eben nicht. Ich habe mich gut in die Protagonisten hineinversetzen können und habe auch einiges für mich aus dem Buch mitnehmen können. Ich bin sehr froh es gelesen zu haben, auch wenn das Cover zunächst etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war.
Dieses Buch beschreibt auf sehr realitätsnahe Art und Weise, dass selbst wenn alles perfekt scheint, es das meistens nicht ist und es lehrt, dass es nie zu spät ist, noch einmal neu anzufangen. Und es ist ebenfalls nie zu spät, sich selbst zu entdecken!
