THE STEPMOTHER

Thomas Crane was an American scholar and writer, mostly known as a collector and publisher of folk-tales and legends. A master of many languages, Crane translated French, Italian and Spanish works, having become one of the most popular adapters of children’s fairy tales.

«The Stepmother» is a short Italian fairy tale about a husband who married a woman after her wife's death. This woman became a stepmother to his children but hated them much more than one may guess. Once upon a time she decided to get rid of them and sent them to their father having told the wrong way. They got lost but it was only the beginning of their journey. Probably they could revenge new husband's wife for what she did.
