Taxes in New York State and especially Long Island are exorbitantly high. I mean "crazy high". No, I mean it's Halloween "let's-put-on-some-war-paint-and-throw-the-taxing-authorities-into-the-harbor" high. It worked a few hundred years ago in Boston. Just for "fun" -try it--I am the Vice President of the Board of Education for the school district that my children attend, here on Eastern Long Island. In my fifth year as a Board of Education member, and third year as Vice President of the Board, I have learned that the children of our district aren't the only people learning something new every day, as I have been "educated" in everything from school law, to taxes, to fiduciary responsibility, to public speaking, and a host of other areas that I never dreamed were part of serving on a local Board of Education.
