When Toy Maker Carstead Manufacturing experiences unexplained setbacks for its new, surefire line of Space Age toys, the CEO hires a production analyst to study the company's production procedures.

Before long the rumor mill is in full swing, but while other employees are worrying about their jobs, Wynne Edwards is more concerned about the legitimacy of the new analyst. After their rocky first encounter, this newcomer keeps popping up after hours in unlikely places. Determined to learn what he's up to, Wynne soon discovers that the life of adventure she so enjoys in her favorite books can produce a little more excitement than she's quite ready to handle.

For his part, Joel Archer can't decide if the attractive head of Secretarial Services is just the quirky young woman she appears to be, or if she's up to something that could spell more trouble for her employer. Either way, though, she'll bear watching, and he's just the man for the job.
