A personal and insightful description of the movement from "gardening with pretty plants for human enjoyment" to gardening in support of ecosystem health, including all beings in our definition of community and using our own backyards to support all local life while still enjoying the beauty of plants. This little book begins to address the question: what is our (human) role and responsibility in supporting life on planet earth?
