  Lucy "Luce" Cunningham is too busy bracing for the end of the known world and preparing her beloved community of friends for the reawakening of the old gods to focus on her attraction to new guy Rhys Reid. Or so she tells herself.  She and her best friend Magda must keep the borders of their lands strong with magics to hold the barrier that keeps the gods away from their lands. She must also prepare to host a massive meeting of the magical community on her community's property. And that's not to mention the pesky angels that won't stop trespassing on the sanctified lands, which is just so rude!

  Rhys Reid is fascinated with Luce's bright smile and quirky ways. But he understands she has scars on her spirit from an abusive ex-husband. So, he must try to be slow and gentle with his attraction for her. But she makes it so hard, what with the skinny dipping and the innocent eyes. Plus, she looks so good covered in blood!
