Shifting Gears

Three years, eleven cardboard boxes, and zero prospects. And one cross-country motorcycle ride with the man who has haunted his fantasies for six years.

Theo Callahan just lost his job, his boyfriend, and his Brooklyn apartment in the same catastrophic week. His only way to his brother's place in California is on the back of a custom motorcycle driven by Gage Maddox—his brother’s notoriously stoic, heavily tattooed, and infuriatingly gorgeous best friend.

Gage is a walking masterclass in emotional walls, and Theo is an over-thinker who has spent the last six years trying very hard not to stare at Gage's hands. Four days on the road together sounds like a special kind of torture.

But thousands of miles of forced proximity strips away their defenses. What starts as a silent, agonizing ride across the country turns into a fiery, undeniable collision that leaves them both laid bare. It turns out Gage has been keeping a massive secret of his own, and when the desert heat pushes them past their breaking points, the truth finally spills out.

The road is an easy place to fall in love when nobody is watching. But with Sacramento and the real world looming ahead, Gage and Theo will have to decide if what happened in the dark can survive in the daylight.

Shifting Gears is a steamy, high-heat MM contemporary romance featuring the brother's best friend trope, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, and a guaranteed HEA.
