Finding love in the middle of a cyclone
I am in love with Elsie’s Creek, it’s inhabitants (both humans and animals) and all of the history that surrounds the town! Monet and Tim are another couple that you can’t help but fall for:)!
The atmosphere of the series reminds me of a Australian tv series called “Macleods daughters”
and I loved that series. If you have seen and loved that series you will definitely love these books too;)! I also love that Mel A. Rowe draws from her own experiences with cyclones and other stuff too, but you can read about her experiences in her acknowledgments.
Monet is a bush pilot who as a child experienced a trauma unlike any and gets rescued by Tim’s father and mother in their plane(triggers from the first chapter is mother in chock and stillborn baby, dad missing).
This day Tim promises Monet to take care of her from now on (he is nine swoon).
About ten years later or so Tim lost his father and his fiancé (who cheated on him) and has inherited the family farm! He hasn’t seen or talked to Monet for two years but he totally shot down after loosing his father.
Normally on Christmas he visits his mother who left the farm, but this year he wallows at home drowning his sorrows of loosing his fiancé in beer and cricket on tv. But suddenly the whirlwind named Monet comes to manage the farm in his absence and the wallowing is over.
While they rekindle their friendship and maybe become more they also have a cyclone warning they have to prepare for. And this Christmas changes everything for them both;)!
I already fell for this couple in the first chapter and their friendship and love is so amazing and epic. And that they figure it all out on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while having been through a cyclone is beautiful because they meet at Christmas Day after a cyclone too.
Everything just fits together and has a red thread throughout the story. The town of Elsie’s Creek Is the center of the events and the inhabitants of the town sticks together and helps everyone in need of help.
I can definitely recommend this book.
