As the Ancient Kingdom falls, Rhys ua Galbraithe, Sentinel to the Pendragon is tasked to protect the future of the world. The Ancients' "gift", the sphere of sovereignty, is sought by those who would misuse it for absolute power.

Seren of the stars, an escaped prisoner, sees what has been, and what may come to pass. Her survival depends on the vision bestowed upon her by the old gods. She seeks to protect her family and the one she has seen in visions.

When their paths cross, the two must help each other~ one with might, the other with sight~ to attain their goals.
