Description de l’éditeur

Jack Scarpulla was a Long Island City butcher who was indicted for bootlegging in 1939. The illegal liquor still operated in Shrub Oak, New York. A Gambino family associate, Scarpulla was heavily immersed in the illegal narcotics trade. He was one of a number of Astoria, Queens butchers who was arrested for exceeding prices for lamb in 1943. Prices were strictly regulated by the Federal Office of Price Administration following the outbreak of World War II. A Sicilian, Scarpulla was originally from Palermo. My e-book examines Scarpulla's mob ties and the mid-1960s U.S. Senate hearings that mention him as a heroin trafficker.
