Revival

Sierra Leone. At the very end of “Blood Diamond” film, released in 2006, a statement said that Sierra Leone was at peace. The film is about the devastating 1991 - 2002 civil war in the country and malfeasant diamonds trafficking used in illegal arms deals. The war is over, but the jewels remain. Before the war, Sierra Leone had been raved about as a great holiday destination. For its West African climate, laid back attitude, superb beaches and genuine people. As the war finally ended, it was supposed to be that way again.


This book describes the author’s personal and unique experiences whilst his trip to Sierra Leone in November 2007. This book contains 50 original photographs taken during the trip, practical information and description of places to stay, eat, drink, socialise with the locals and explore. The book covers the Freetown and Aberdeen areas and the beaches around York.
