Senegal, The Gambia, Mali and Burkina Faso. The Gambia was so friendly and had beaches superb enough to lure me back a number of times. Mali boasts West Africa’s most dramatic landscape and extremely spectacular architecture. Senegal is packed with exceptionally attractive people and Burkina Faso is an excellent value and surprises with some unexpected scenery.


This books describes the author’s personal and unique experiences whilst his trip to Senegal, The Gambia, Mali and Burkina Faso in 2004 and 2005. The book contains 274 original photographs taken during the trip, practical information and description of places to stay, eat, drink, socialise with the locals and explore. It covers the following places: Dakar, N’Gor, Ile de Goree, Saint-Louis, Djoudj National Park - all in Senegal; Banjul, Serekunda, Bakau, Fajara, Kotu, Kololi, Senegambia - all in The Gambia; Segou, Mopti, Djenne, Hombori, Bandiagara Escarpment, Dogon Country - in Mali; Bobo-Dioulasso, Dafra, Sindou, Domes of Fabedougou, and Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.
