Trial by Fire

Sam Burton abandoned his medical profession for a new career in journalism. His very first assignment, however, requires he interview his fallen past mentor Dr. Joseph Cannon as he awaits his execution. Interviewing him in the maximum-security prison, Sam is confronted with many questions. Why did Dr. Cannon choose him for his final interview? What really happened that night when Dr. Cannon infamously killed his family? As Sam delves deeper into the psyche of this man, he quickly realizes that there are other forces at work that do not want him to succeed in his task. What were they hiding? 


Sam’s investigation reveals surprising truths from a man discarded by society. Can there be redemption in such a man? Can there ever be peace with such tragedy?
