APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Thrillers live or die on their twists and turns—and this tale of two women who decide to swap murder targets is overflowing with clever twists and turns. After both have been wronged by men, strangers Amanda and Wendy plot their revenge by agreeing to kill each other’s antagonist. (If you’re familiar with Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Strangers on a Train, you know the vibe.) From there, we’re off to the races with plenty of suspense, action and dramatic reveals from award-winning Irish author Steve Cavanagh, who also weaves in a home invasion that initially seems to have nothing to do with the main plot. But in his safe yet diabolical hands, we know everything will make sense after some unexpected twists. Narrator Stephanie Cannon brings her best work to Cavanagh’s prose, deftly differentiating between the characters with discrete voices for each one—even in the midst of conversation.

This thriller is kind of hard to sum up without spoiling it. I think you need to go in blind and make your own mind up.
This is a modern take on the book ‘strangers on a train. ‘Hitchcock’ also adapted it into a film. I recommend adding the audio as it adds to the tension in the book.
We have two women who meet through a support group. Upon meeting over drinks they find they have a lot in common. They cannot let things lie after suffering tragedy in a world that allows the suspect to walk free. They decide to both murder each other’s suspect, this to them will be the only way to make things right in the world.
It all sounds good on paper but what will the reality look like? There are twists and turns and it was addictive reading as the author led me through this tale.
Be prepared for the twists and turns and one aspect seemed confusing until there is a lightbulb💡moment when it all becomes crystal clear, the author kept drawing me in. The ending for me was just what I hoped for. It made for compelling reading.
This is my first encounter with this author and I will definitely read more of his works.
Love this author.
Doesn’t disappoint. Love every single one of his books! Really cool concept for a plot and lots of twists.
Fantastic
Not listened to an audiobook that’s kept me up so late. Could not stop listening. I loved all the characters and the twists and turns. Brilliantly written and superb on audio form.
