Amos Decker, David Baldacci's unique special agent with the gift of a remarkable memory, returns in The Fallen.
Small towns which have seen better times are not unusual. But the mysterious events in Baronville, Pennsylvania, are raising the highly-tuned antennae of agent Amos Decker and his FBI partner, Alex Jamison. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turns into a murder investigation when two bodies are found in a nearby deserted house.
With the body count rising, Decker and Jamison dig deep to uncover a sinister truth in Baronville, which could be the canary in the coalmine for the rest of the country.
But even the duo’s skills and Amos Decker’s infallible memory may not be enough to save this town, or them, from becoming the next victims.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Actors Kyf Brewer and Orlagh Cassidy tackle The Fallen’s male and female roles, giving the audiobook the feel of an old-fashioned radio play. Amos Decker—the FBI man haunted by his photographic memory—is a timeless mystery hero, but David Baldacci's fourth instalment of his fan-favourite series feels ripped from the headlines. While on vacation, Decker gets pulled into the hunt for a serial killer terrorising a small town already in the grips of opioid addiction. We were glued to our headphones as Brewer and Cassidy captured the terrifying suspense and the emotional pain of a community that's fallen on hard times.

*Vacation in Hell+
In this instalment we see Amos Decker & his partner in crime solving who was a former journalist Alex Jamison taking a vacation after a gruelling last case. They are staying with Alex’s sister in Baronville Pennsylvania. It’s a quiet area and one night while sitting outside there seems to be some strange goings on. Decker’s heckles start to rise as a supposed deserted house seems to have a flicker light.
The house is home to two bodies and their identities that can or cannot be denied brings in the DIA. This is no longer a vacation and this case opens up a can of worms that as they dig deeper uncovers deep secrets that Decker & Alex will stop at nothing to uncover. There is a group of townsfolk’s who will also stop at nothing to see them extinguished from the earth. They have underestimated Amos who absolutely will search for the truth wherever the truth takes him because the inexplicable will never do as he follows his own rules.
They uncover lies, a kidnap that is close to home, hidden treasure, a deadly form of life insurance and the scandal that not only is some local law enforcement involved in the crimes but the most unlikely people in the neighbourhood are too.
With this in mind as the pieces are starting to fit together who will win the battle….. this small town is like no other.
