About the author
Soman Chainani belives in fairy tales even more than the children of Gavaldon do. While studying at Harvard, he practically created his own ‘fairy tale’ major and wrote his thesis on why evil women make such irresistible fairy-tale villains.
Soman is also an acclaimed screenwriter, whose films have played at more than 150 film festivals around the world, winning more than 30 jury and audience prizes.
When he’s not telling stories or teaching in New York City, Soman is a die-hard tennis player who never lost a first-round match for ten years. Then he started writing The School for Good and Evil. Now he loses all the time.

The School for Good and Evil
This book was amazing tho it is only the second book of the series, I am already dying from excitement to read the next book. It has all the properties I would want to find in a fairytale book; the way the book is written makes me feel like I’m in the story, like how Agatha magically appeared in a scene in one of the storybooks. The way Agatha is torn between her lover and her best friend creates a tension like no other. In the she ended up with Tedros as I expected because like it said, “Good with Good, and Evil with Evil”. I would definitely recommend this if you like both the genres fantasy and romance. My favourite characters would have to be Tedros, Agatha and Hester as they all possess a sense of need to help others when in danger and know what to fight for, they are true leaders which truely inspire me, even though Hester may act like a villain, she knows who is friend and who is foe and was willing to fight with Agatha despite the fact she an Ever and a princess. This makes her my ultimate favourite character in this second book.😍😍❤️😱
Not as good as the first one...
Soman Chainani's first novel interesed me from the start. He referenced fairy tales in every turn and had memorable characters (I even like Hester!), but this time it's fallen a bit flat.
Narrative issues here. I am one of the series' older readers but I saw some of the plot twists as a bit predictable. But it was fun to see the princesses and witches team up and change completey (Talk about Dot). Decent time but I hope Last Ever After is an improvement.
