Publisher Description
A heartbreaking page-turner for fans of Jodi Picoult and Diane Chamberlain from USA Today bestselling author Kate Hewitt.
Josh and Ben are nine years old and best friends, until a single, careless act in the school playground destroys the lives of both families – and wrenches their small Manhattan school apart.
As both mothers Maddie and Joanna try to find out what really happened between the boys, they discover the truth is far more complicated and painful than either of them could have ever realised… with lasting repercussions for both families.
And when tragedy strikes again in the most unexpected of ways, the lives of these two women will be changed once more, and this time forever.
And Then He Fell explores the issues of parental responsibility and guilt, and whether there are some acts that human nature just cannot forgive…
About the author
Kate Hewitt has worked a variety of different jobs, from drama teacher to editorial assistant to youth worker, but writing romance is the best one yet. She also writes women's fiction and all her stories celebrate the healing and redemptive power of love. Kate lives in a tiny village in the English Cotswolds with her husband, five children, and an overly affectionate Golden Retriever.

Heartbreaking Novel
Two Boys, Two Families, One Accident… This heartbreaking novel show’s us how adult problems can impact children in a way nobody could forsee.
When Ben has an accident at school which leaves him in a coma nobody could forsee the secrets which would be uncovered around why he fell, least of all his Mother Maddie nor his best friend, Josh’s mother Joanna nor the impact these secrets would have on Josh.
This book explores child mental health, the behaviour of adults, school culpability, and how the actions of adults can be interpreted by children rightly or wrongly.
Told from the dual voices of the two mothers Maddie, and Joanna this novel is hard hitting, and heartbreaking. As the story unfolds and the secrets creep out these poor Mother’s discover things about their children, and each other which will change them forever.
This novel will change it’s readers forever, I am not a parent and I couldn’t help but be deeply moved by this novel. I couldn’t help but feel for each of these Mother’s and their suffering.
Kate Hewitt has created a novel which is overwrought with emotion and will break your heart.
Thank you very much to Kate Hewitt and Carina UK via NetGalley for a copy of the novel to review this book honestly for the blog tour.
