Apocryphal Aggadot

Alternative Accounts of Biblical Tales

Publisher Description

Apocryphal Aggadot is a series of short stories, loosely based on tales from the pages of the Hebrew Bible in a variety of styles and formats, much as the Bible itself. Aggadot are (in accepted usage) non-legalistic exegetical texts in the classical rabbinic literature of Judaism, particularly as recorded in the Talmud and Midrash.

The stories are told from different perspectives than those in the biblical accounts, occasionally by various antagonists or those seen as “the enemy”.

It isn't only the stories that are apocryphal: The book itself purports to be my own translation of “Aggadot M'fuqpaq” by one Professor Ish-Kavetz, originally published in Hebrew in 1986.
