Nell Cardross and her husband are madly in love...

But they're very bad at showing it. While Nell believes her new husband, the Earl, married her out of convenience, Giles Cardross worries that his young wife is more interested in his money than his heart.

And Nell's secretive and extravagant spending is becoming a problem...

As she attempts to pay off her brother's never-ending gambling debts, and prevent the Earl's half-sister from eloping with a potentially ruinous match, will Nell's heart of gold lead her - and her marriage - into trouble?

April Lady

A misunderstood young bride attempts to keep her debt from her husband who discovers it and knows she has lied. A good story.

Need we say more?

May I presume to add my mite to so many others who find Georgette Heyer’s heroines and heroes believable and entertaining! Nell and Cardross are witty, charming and engaging, and from the start you are wishing them to discover each other as they really are! We are not disappointed!
Shame on those authors who pretend to copy Heyer’s style, but end up sinking their material in the gutter to attract public acclaim! What I admire most about Georgette Heyer is her ‘sense of propriety!’
