Nobody writes blue collar romance like Laramie Briscoe...
I’m old enough to be her father, and a life-long confirmed bachelor, but after one night together, all that is about to change.
Boone Wilson
Instead of building my forever with a conventional family, I’ve dedicated my life to being the best father I can to the son I had way too early in life. Now that he’s grown, I’m giving all I can to my job. I make a construction site run smoothly, and can build anything with a couple pieces of wood and my imagination.
My world is small and calm. That’s how I like it. Until Alexis Monroe barrels her way into my peaceful existence and turns my world upside down.
Alexis Monroe
Since graduating college I’ve been hustling, trying to make a dent in the crippling student loan debt I’ve accumulated. Just when I think I’m about to hit major burnout, Boone Wilson walks into the bar I sling drinks at.
His swagger and quiet self-assuredness is a flame that draws me to him.
All I can do now? Try not to get burned.

Absolutely Amazing and Addictive Read
This is book one in The Broken Falls series and it is Boone and Alexis story and omg what a great start to a new series and it is definitely a must read. Boone works for a construction company and he works hard and it very talented and his son Abel also works with him as Boone is a single father and had his son when he was very young and has dedicated his life to being there and giving his son everything that he could escpecially love but Boone doesn’t do relationships or commitments and is a confirmed bachelor but he will do a one night stand occasionally to scratch that itch but when he saw Alexis he was instantly attracted and drawn to her but Boone was old enough to be her father which could cause complications. Alexis is struggling big time after graduating and has debts that need to be paid and can’t find a job in her field as they are sparse so she lives above the family bar while working two jobs just to make ends meet but the highlight of her day is talking to Boone who she is not only attracted to but also feels a connection between them. When Boone and Alexis end up spending a night together he realised and was unable to deny that one time with her is definitely not going to be enough but he doesn’t know what the future will hold for them in the long run. The more time that Boone and Alexis spend together the harder they fall and the stronger there feeling for each other deepen but along with this comes very hard decisions, insecurities, making changes in your life for that important person and being vulnerable in front of each other but with Boone and Alexis feeling like they do about each other trust and communication is the key and most important factor if they want to have a future together. Wow this is only book one and I am already addicted to this new series. Boone is an amazing person, father and friend because he is caring, protective and always there when needed and he was so perfect for Alexis where she came into her own person around him and despite their age differences you could tell that it didn’t matter to either of them or Boone’s son Abel who was so supportive of his dad and the relationship he has with Alexis which shows just what a great and caring son he was. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting because it was so addictive and I can’t wait to read Abel’s story next.
Slightly disappointing.
Little substance to the book and a bit repetitive.
