Thankyou for the best reading experience in years! I was inspired to read after watching the movie but oh my goodness how much better was the real raw prose of Irvine Welch. An Edinburgh odyssey on so many gorgeous juicy layers; from the jakeys to the lodge, from Bruce's apparent reality to the true reality of his degeneracy and the horrific reasons why. Irvine writes with a true Edinburgh accent which in itself is a joy and do not for one moment be fooled by the initial shock of the raw language; this is a masterpiece. I kiss your feet Irvine!
