Publisher Description
A page-turning technological thriller with elements of fringe science and conspiracy, JINX is book 3 in the KESTREL action-adventure series, but can also be read as a stand-alone novel.
SHE SEES YOU. SHE KNOWS YOU. SHE'S BAD LUCK.
KESTREL are on leave when early one morning they receive an urgent summons. One of their own has been involved in an accident — or was it? Taking place virtually simultaneously with two other lethal cases of apparent bad luck, a common thread unites all three victims.
When Captain Greenwood and her team discover that the deaths weren’t by chance, they find themselves up against a new and terrifying enemy, directed by a seemingly all-seeing mastermind who already knows exactly who KESTREL are, where they’re going, and many of their deepest secrets.
Nothing stays hidden forever, and the line between privacy and liberty is razor-thin…
Customer Reviews
A gripping, relentless and intelligent thriller
This pulled me in from the first page and every chapter ended with me saying to myself “Well, I’ll stop after the next chapter”! It manages to be a techie treat but always in the service of the plot with real and believable locations, great characters and a compelling story. I also love the way that the author’s moral outlook underpins the tale but is never preachy - a lot is often said in a quick sketch that makes the point but doesn’t labour it.
I’m looking forward to the next. 🙂
Continuing Enjoyment
Well written as ever, and a lovely step back into the storyline with existing characters and some new ones to boot. Very enjoyable.
I was also greatly amused by the content knowing that the author used to work in software development and some of the ethical queries coming out of that industry in the last few years.
