Detective DeLuca plays a dangerous game with gangsters, mayhem, and murder in 50s L.A.

Boxer Jimmy Doherty, hard-luck orphan from the south side of Chicago, mentored in the Sweet Science, has fists good enough to take him to L.A. where he climbs the local fight-cards. He plans to be a contender and even bigger plans for Lindy—his trainer's only daughter, who's sweeter than apple pie and harder to resist.

When Lindy is arrested for killing a boxer, Jimmy is forced to join forces with the Detective DeLuca— arresting office—in a desperate search for the real killer.
