PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In Sigurdard ttir's engaging second crime novel to feature attorney Th ra Gudmundsd ttir (after Last Rituals), J nas J l usson, a client Th ra assisted with a land purchase in West Iceland, calls for more help. The superstitious J l usson, who believes one of the farmhouses on the land he bought to develop a spa and hotel is haunted, invites Th ra to stay at his facility and investigate. Her arrival coincides with the discovery under some seaweed on the beach of the sexually abused corpse of architect Birna Halld rsd ttir, who was working on a new building. J l usson, who apparently sent a text message arranging a rendezvous with the victim at the time and place where she died, becomes the prime suspect. The lawyer shifts gears from ghost busting to amateur sleuthing. As Th ra pursues an array of suspects and clues, Sigurdard ttir keeps readers guessing whodunit.
Customer Reviews
Great
It’s a fascinating read, well described characters and once you start reading you simply have to finish the book in one go.
Amazing
Brilliant read, you really get the sense of the lava fields and the coldness of beautiful Iceland.
Great story, rubbish version
This electronic version has lots of snags. Pages were skipped, including all of chapters 30 & 31, plus the epilogue. Kept freezing in the middle section as well. Buy the book!
