PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
McManus follows up her page-turning One of Us Is Lying with an equally breathless read, this time focusing on secondary characters from the original story. Following the events of the first book, the Bayview Four Bronwyn, Addy, Cooper, and Nate have now gone their separate ways. Only Addy remains in town, working as a server, alongside Phoebe, at Caf Contigo. Maeve, Bronwyn's younger sister, a leukemia survivor, spends a great deal of time there with Knox, her best friend and former boyfriend. When a new Reddit thread mysteriously begins under the moniker "Vengeance Is Mine," and an anonymous texter begins a Truth or Dare game on Bayview High students' phones, the new friends' secrets are revealed in a public and embarrassing way, via school-wide texts. The anonymous texter ends the reveal with a warning: "Always take the dare." When the dares go from shocking to dangerous, Maeve, Phoebe, Addy, and Knox find themselves at the center of a new mystery with an even more dangerous puppet master. Full of exciting and unexpected twists and racing toward a shocking conclusion, McManus's tale will not disappoint fans, and those unfamiliar with her previous work will inhale this complicated story of friendship and revenge. Ages 14 up.

Amazing book
Couldn’t put it down!!
Brilliant sequel!
I have been left quite a bit down by the sequels of a few books and I worried if the same would happen here! I loved One of Us Is Lying and thought Two Can Keep A secret (McManus' other book) was a great read. I'm glad to report, all your favourite characters return in this book which is just as good.
Set a year after the events of the first book, we follow three new characters; Maeve, Knox and Phoebe, as they attempt to uncover the identity of a student who has started a new game with 2 objectives, take a dangerous dare or reveal your most humiliating secret.
The novel continues the mixture of red-herrings and mystery solving. We not only follow the investigation but how the character's daily lives are effected. McManus' biggest skill in writing is diving right into the minds of the teenager, which she does in relatable accruacy. Certain storyplots featured are highly tense and emotional, so expect lot's of drama!
On the whole this book is a wonderful follow-up. If One of Us can get a great sequel, than I'm sure McManus can do the same with Two can Keep a Secret!
On another note, I am beyond happy that Universal have secured the rights to adapt this book series into a TV show / film for their upcoming streaming service. If done right, I bet it will turn out great!
