Intriguing insight into political upheaval and a clandestine affair
I love all Robert Harris books !!this was again another fascinating tale a mixture of fact and a little conjecture which he does so extremely well. Incredible true story of the love affair between the Prime Minister and a much younger women and their illicit love affair brought vividly to life through their correspondence’s. This all takes place to the backdrop of high society, political policy making and the First World War.
Evocative of a time in history ,it uses their personal correspondence and classified documents that could have brought down the liberal government of the time.
