Publisher Description

A CHILDREN’S TOP 10 BESTSELLER (TCM)

The debut novel from Alice Oseman, author of the 2021 YA Book Prize winning Loveless. Solitaire features the characters that inspired the beloved series Heartstopper – now a major Netflix series.

“The Catcher in the Rye for the digital age” The Times

My name is Tori Spring. I like to sleep and I like to blog. Last year – before all that stuff with Charlie and before I had to face the harsh realities of A-Levels and university applications and the fact that one day I really will have to start talking to people – I had friends. Things were very different, I guess, but that’s all over now.

Now there’s Solitaire. And Michael Holden.

I don’t know what Solitaire are trying to do, and I don’t care about Michael Holden.
I really don’t.

This incredible debut novel by outstanding young author Alice Oseman is perfect for fans of John Green, Rainbow Rowell and all unflinchingly honest writers.

Absolutely amazing!

Right I literally just finished this book today and OH MY GOD. I’m OBSESSED. My friend recommended this book to me and oml she has good taste!!!
The characters are so relatable and I love how Tori just speaks her mind and I just love her personality in general. Michael Holden grew on me and he is now one of my favourite characters!
The plot twist was amazing and the character development was amazing.
To sum this all up, this book is the definition of perfection.

One of my favourite books

I love Tori and I’m so glad she got her own book when she’s the main character. I relate to Tori so much and I hope this gets turned into a tv adaptation like heartstopper because I’d love to see if this was how I imagined it in my head. I love Tori so much, she’s always with her diet lemonade and in her room with her blog. She’s just so relatable for me, and now I’ve got a new character to love Michael Holden.
