APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Ever since her 2007 debut, Lucy in the Sky, Paige Toon has been a go-to author for warm-hearted, page-turning love stories. And Someone I Used To Know is true to form. It is told through the eyes of Leah, both then—as a teenager dealing with burgeoning romantic feelings, including for a boy fostered by her parents—and now—as an adult with a young daughter, facing an unthinkable tragedy. When that boy comes back into her life, she is at once confused and excited. Toon captures the teenagers’ growing feelings, which they struggle to fully understand, and those of the adults, which they struggle to control, with an unerringly compassionate touch. She’s an expert at rendering chemistry on the page, and the result is as comforting as it is compelling.

Again
I’m lucky it’s the summer holidays, such a lovely book with an underline meaning. Working in a school you see an other side to children. It’s so very rewarding
so sweet
a gentle book with insightful messages throughout. i loved the dual timeline and clever twists. the many small details made it a very captivating read
Beautifully written
Wonderfully written, i knew nothing about the story when I started reading it. I have previously read several of Paige’s books and this has to be my favourite. I work with children who are looked after and have had difficult childhoods so I loved how thoughtful and real it was. I will recommend this book for sure to friends.
