Easy to read
An easy to read book that has a few really special moments.
However, it sometimes drags on and repeats itself. As if we need a recap every few chapters. There are a lot of paragraphs one can skip as some of the descriptions are indulgent.
I would have liked the book more if the author didn’t focus so much on developing a Marsian language instead of inventing new characters and increasing existing character depth and growth.
I found it inexplicable that M continues to keep some of the most treacherous villians as central figures in her life despite them clearly acting in their own selfish interests. There is no cause and consequence for the villians, yet the central partnership faces prejudice and obstacles like it is the 12th century.
Nevertheless the story is entertaining despite being frustrating and boring at times.
