Publisher Description
On May 3, 1999, supercells gather over Oklahoma, and every decision on the road begins to matter.
Amateur storm chaser Cal Rusk knows the back roads, but his daughter Jo is in Moore, where warnings are closing in. Alongside him, Marnie Bell, a veterinary technician and ham-radio operator, records what she sees and reports what she cannot. Retired EMT Owen Slater keeps the crew moving as hail, traffic, and rain make every route a risk. In Oklahoma City, meteorologist Dana Vale and producer Nolan Price sort eyewitness calls from rumors, trying to give viewers useful instructions before certainty arrives.
As rain erases the horizon, the chasers lose the one thing they set out to find: a clear view. Their choices test their judgment, trust, and the courage to say plainly what is known—and what is not.
Supercell is a disaster thriller inspired by the real May 3-4, 1999, tornado outbreak across Oklahoma and the southern Plains. Its central characters, private scenes, and dialogue are fictional; documented storms and public events provide the historical framework.
