Publisher Description
This seminal book injects the topic of superintelligence into the academic and popular mainstream. What happens when machines surpass humans in general intelligence? Will artificial agents save or destroy us? In a tour de force of analytic thinking, Bostrom lays a foundation for understanding the future of humanity and intelligent life.
Customer Reviews
Terrifyingly interesting but inaccessible
Really enjoyed the book - probably one of the few that will stick with me and change what I worry about in the future. But the author has a bad habit of over-complicating explanations and making it unnecessarily hard to follow. It feels part PhD thesis, part Frasier episode.
Nice book - shame about the price
The premise and sample chapters sound very interesting but at 19 quid for an ebook I simply can't bring myself to buy this. I'm sure a lot of people would like to read this but won't for the same reason. Why the absurd pricing? Is this bad AI at work;-)
