An awesome book to read
I love Liz Crowd as an author and have read all her books. I was really excited to get this book as an advanced reader copy and I definitely wasn't disappointed in the writing, the story or the characters. This is book 1 of a new series and it proves what a fantastic writer she is. I loved this book and cant wait to read book 2.
Evelyn is a saleswoman in a male dominated world of craft beer selkung and is very good at what she does and works hard. She is given the job of escorting around Austin Fitzgerald, a very wealthy brewery owner. The air between them seems to sizzle from the first moment they meet and although Austin likes her she hates him with her misconception of him being a trust fund kid.
They both reveal their past lives and she wants to know more about ross, his friend he graduated from brewing school in Munich. Evelyn is intrigued with the story of Ross and Austin sharing. This book I read in one sitting and had it all for me. Love, hate, arguments, work life balance, misunderstanding, jealousy, parental involvements. I really felt for Evelyn when she found out about Austin and his alleged fiance and when his mom started to interfere in their life as she looked down her nose at Evelyn every chance she got but Evelyn seemed to rise above it. When his dad died his mom stirred the pot even more by getting his ex girlfriend there to hang around him and he had to be nice. It broke my heart for Evelyn and made me angry at Austin that he was so naive to realise what his mom was doing. I had to put the book down as I worked out my anger at him.
Austin worked at the family company, Evelyn got her old job back and ross got the brewers job at Austin's company. My feeling were up and down during this bOok and range from anger to being happy and then desperation at the fact that these people loved each other so much but were being stubborn to realise it. Well done Liz on an awesome book and cant wait for book 2 to come out.
