5* Skilfully written with an intriguing plot.
The Box gives an insight into police work the public rarely see, and is certainly not shown in films or popular TV series.
After loudly disputing the latest petty regulations from the newly appointed Chief Constable, Detective Chief Inspector Thurstan Baddeley is banished from the Major Incident Team with orders to work his way through boxes of cold cases in
a dilapidated police station on an old industrial estate. A murder committed over a 100 years ago particularly takes Thurston's attention, he digs back into history exposing evidence of political and police corruption.
Compulsive reading with an excellent twist at the end, hopefully there'll be a fifth book.
