Publisher Description

An extraordinary new novel from the author of Never Let Me Go and the Booker Prize winning The Remains of the Day

'You've long set your heart against it, Axl, I know. But it's time now to think on it anew. There's a journey we must go on, and no more delay...'

The Buried Giant begins as a couple set off across a troubled land of mist and rain in the hope of finding a son they have not seen in years.

Sometimes savage, often intensely moving, Kazuo Ishiguro's first novel in a decade is about lost memories, love, revenge and war.

The Buried Giant

The richness of the language is mesmerising; the precision of dialogue faultless.
This was a tightly bound and perfectly told tale enveloped in a mist of fantasy. I was rapt.

I have never written a book review before, but was compelled to after finishing this book. This was a shockingly bad book that dragged on and on. Having read many previous books from this author and throughly enjoying them, I persisted with this one, but found it lacking in every way. I can only assume that this book is listed as a best seller because of the authors previous work, and would like to give warning to anyone thinking of reading this one, you might be disappointed as I was.

The buried giant.

I'm angry that I paid 11.99 for this heap of drivel. The storyline is awful and it's so slow I couldn't finish it and skipped to the last few pages,it didn't end any better. Awful. I don't even want to give it one star!
