Gripping, engaging read

A definite 5⭐️ Read for me, this one had me hooked from the opening paragraph. Who is buried? Told from the points of view of Ed, Claire, Abby and Ryan. In four parts.

Part one: Ed and Claire meet their daughter Abby’s boyfriend of seven months Ryan for the first time, it doesn’t take Ed long to see something in Ryan’s eyes that he doesn’t like. But the it turns out Ed has never approved of any of Abby’s boyfriends. So when that same night Ryan makes the gesture of asking Ed for Abby’s hand in marriage, Ed’s thoughts for his daughters safety spiral, what makes it worse is that the young couple have a date for the wedding already and it’s only six weeks away.

Is Ed just a very over protective father? Or is he right to suspect Ryan? Ed tries everything he can to stop the wedding, or postpone it. Following Ryan. Entering his house to have a snoop around. But Ryan seems so perfect, he has a good job, he has a degree in Psychology, he is a special constable, and he works as a volunteer at a hospice. How could anyone not like him?

Part two: Ryan as a son in law, despite being married Ed is still on a mission, causing problems between him and Abby and him and his wife Claire, as well as other things.

Part three: some details of Ryan and things get revealed, is he good or bad, has Ed been right?

Part four: The Catch as things begin to come together, we find out what is going on.

The tension gradually builds from the start right the way through at a steady pace, at times Ed is very frustrating as he doggedly goes on.

But who is right? Who will win the battle?

I would like to thank #netgalley and #Zaffre for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest, fair and unbiased review.

Utter rubbish

childish and predictable. No ‘twist’ just rambling over explanations patronising the reader, dreadful waste of money.
