A Wolf on the hunt...
Wulfgar Hahn, better known as the Wolf of Braugne, is a man on a mission. Determined to avenge the murder of his brother, he stops at Camaeline Abbey to meet with the Chosen of Camael, goddess of the Hearth. Unfortunately, it appears the Chosen wants nothing to do with him.
A leader in disguise...
Captivated by the Wolf of Braugne despite herself, Lily poses as an unassuming priestess in order to learn more about this ruthless man. But things are not as they seem, and after foiling an assassination attempt, Lily must decide if Wulf is the destroyer from her visions, or the hero of her dreams.
A choice to be made...
As war looms on the horizon, passion sparks between them, but an enduring relationship between a soldier on the march and a leader who reveres hearth and home is impossible—or is it? Among the swirling snows of the winter Masque, the gods and goddesses of the Elder Races dance, and love will find a way...

A favourite series
Thea Harrison is a must read for me, I've loved all of her books and that's the reason I read this one when it was part of an anthology.
It's set in the Elder race's world but it's kinda totally separate so it can be read as a complete standalone. It builds the world up really well and you didn't feel like you were missing out on anything. There's quite abit going on so you need to concentrate for those first few chapters and then I just got sucked into the bubble that is Lily and Wulf. They worked really well with each other and lily quietly schooled Wulf in the way to behave to get what he wants. He was very abrupt and forceful but she chipped away at his harder outer shell and I found him to be really lovable. Lily i felt was still finding her feet but she has a quiet strength about her and it rose up when needed. Really fun chemistry and I was left wanted so much more. I'm really hoping this could get expanded in the future as would make a brilliant full length novel.
