Publisher Description
'If I vanished he wouldn't notice, if I died he wouldn't care. I think of him all the time, and he thinks of me not at all. I love him, and my love torments me. There are times when I feel like a ghost beside him; as if he alone is real, and I'm just a daydream.'
This is the story of two brothers.
One is impassioned and one reserved.
One is destined to go down in history and the other to be forgotten.
In Pullman's hands, this sacred tale is reborn as one of the most enchanting, thrilling and visionary stories of recent years.

A fascinating speculation
Pullman's book is a fascinating speculation about how a church may gave begun. No malice or mal-intent is suggested, this isn't an attack on the motives of the characters, nor a denial of their existence, but a thoughtful fiction telling the story of innocent well meaning people acting with little or no plan.
I found the telling a little stilted, but I understand what Pullman was trying to achieve with the writing style.

Rubbish,
If u want to know jesus i can think of a better book than this!!!
Give it a go
A simple book with deep resonate meaning be you a person with or without faith. The underlying message of corruption that happens whenever a belief system is organized and the nature of man to exploit the most pure of messages all get a look in. Should be on any theology syllabus!
