Publisher Description
The Master and Margarita is a novel by Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov. Set in Moscow during the Soviet era, the story follows the Devil and his entourage as they wreak havoc on the city's literary elite. Among their targets is the titular Master, a writer whose manuscript has been deemed too subversive for publication. Alongside the Devil's mischievous exploits, the novel also follows the love story between Margarita, the Master's lover, and her desperate attempts to save him from his fate. Rich with political satire, religious symbolism, and fantastical elements, The Master and Margarita is a complex and surreal work of literature that explores the limits of art, love, and human nature in a repressive society.
Customer Reviews
SO GOOD
This is SO GOOD, especially the second half!! It is long but please read it - you definitely won't regret it!
Auto-formatted
Poorly formatted, rogue spaces, errors in punctuation, random intersperses of ‘The Master and Margarita’ mid-paragraph where it was clearly at the top of the page when scanned in. Still just about legible but not enjoyable. Only suggest purchasing if you need to copy-paste a quote from it you can’t find elsewhere, not for actual reading.
