Book two of the classic ELENIUM trilogy. The quest for the jewel of life continues.
Time is running out for the poisoned Queen Ehlana. If she is to be saved Sparhawk must find the only cure – a powerful artefact called the Bhelliom – before it’s too late.
But finding the rose-shaped sapphire is no simple task. No one has set eyes upon it since it was lost in the heat of a legendary battle.
To make matters worse, Sparhawk and his allies are not the only party questing to find the jewel.
‘Nobody writes modern fantasy like Eddings or as well… Eddings is at the top with the very best’
‘Sparhawk is the best-realized hero in modern fantasy’
About the author
David Eddings was born in Washington State in 1931 and grew up near Seattle. He graduated from the University of Washington and went on to serve in the US Army. Subsequently, he worked as a buyer for the Boeing Aircraft Company and taught college-level English. His career as a fantasy writer, with his wife Leigh, has been spectacular.
Sir Sparhawk and his companions seek the Bhelliom, an antidote to a rare poison administered to Elenia's queen. ``Eddings's delightful style propels the reader along a well-crafted and carefully unfolding course, and even through the few places he falls back on cliches of the genre,'' said PW.

Brilliant but what a stupid place to put a spoiler
Loved this book even more than the first one.
I’ve never written a review before but felt compelled because I need to warn others. 😂
When you finish the last page, do not turn another one. I repeat. Don’t turn the page.
For some reason, on the very next page, the first line of the authors note reveals a massive spoiler and now I kinda don’t want to read book 3. I of course will, just being melodramatic ... don’t make the same mistake I did!
