Publisher Description
From Melanie Raabe, the author of The Trap, The Stranger Upstairs is another dazzling, dizzying psychological thriller guaranteed to keep you guessing until the very last page.
Several years ago, your husband, and the father of your young son, disappeared. Since then, you’ve dreamed of his return; railed against him for leaving you alone; grieved for your marriage; and, finally, vowed to move on.
One morning, the phone rings. When you answer, a voice at the other end tells you your husband’s on a plane bound for home, and that you’ll see him tomorrow.
You’ve imagined this reunion countless times. Of course you have. But nothing has prepared you for the reality. For you realize you don’t know this man.
Because he isn’t your husband, he’s a complete stranger – and he’s coming home with you.
Even worse, he seems to know about something very bad you once did, something no one else could possibly know about . . . Could they?

Amazing book
Oh, my, goodness, buy this book! Then, close the curtains, put your phone on silent and enjoy.
I loved this read so, so much. I’d honestly give more than 5* if I could. I literally sat up into the night to finish it in one sitting and woke up wanting to re-read it, It just grabbed me and wouldn’t let go!
It’s so well written and honestly never lets up from the first page to the last and what an amazing ending.
A woman, whose husband has been missing for 7 years turns up....but he’s a stranger to her. Who is he? And what does he want?
there are elements of the story where you have to suspend belief, but, it’s so, so good and well written I did so gladly and I wasn’t disappointed.
As I was reading it I did think that it’s very much in the style of early Harlan Coben / Linwood Barclay and in my opinion on a par in terms of writing quality and suspense and better in many parts due to the fabulous poetic writing.
For anyone who enjoys a good ‘edge of the seat’ thriller/drama, it’s a must read and I would highly recommend. It’s so good I know it will stay with me for such a long time and that I want to read it again, now.
Thanks so much to Netgalley, Text publishing and the fabulous author, Melanie Raabe for the opportunity to preview this amazing read,
One thing I don’t quite understand, is that Netgalley state a publishing date of 9 October, but, I did some research and you can buy now on Amazon UK for £4.74 sold as ‘The stranger upstairs ‘ an incredible bargain, in my opinion.
