Step into the tumultuous world of the 15th century England with Sharon Penman's bestselling and painstakingly detailed historical novel, breathing life into the infamous King Richard III, showcasing his prowess as a battle commander during the Wars of the Roses.
Richard is a fiercely loyal, courageous man of principles. A devoted brother, a beloved patron of the arts, and a generous friend, and far more than the warrior his reputation suggests.
But in the treacherous waters of court politics, Richard's code of conduct betrays him. Pulled under by the tides of history, Richard is the man immortalised as a usurper of the throne, and the man behind the mystery of the Princes in the Tower.
Crafted with vibrant brushstrokes of medieval life, love, and intrigue, The Sunne in Splendour peers into the past, dispelling myths and illuminating a lost era with poignant realism.

The Sunne in Splendour
This story has taken me through so many real emotions. Truly amazing characters whom you cannot help but fall and feel for. The treachery, the fear, the love, the uncertainty and the loyalty. As a lover of the real 'Dickon' and later Richard iii, I'm nothing if not affirmed in my loyalty to his dear, poor slandered memory. To be a good man, a loyal man, and yet hopelessly vilified for eternity. This story, faithfully using documented evidence and honest records, helps to put forward the actual story as it happened, oceans of time ago. Using a smattering of artistic licence and filling in of gaps, the story kept me enthralled from the very start to the final page. I didn't want it to end.
