Long ago, the world of the Four Lands was torn apart by the wars of ancient Evil. But in the Vale, the half-human, half-elfin Shea Ohmsford now lives in peace - until the mysterious, forbidding figure of the druid Allanon appears, to reveal that the supposedly long dead Warlock Lord lives again.
Shea must embark upon the elemental quest to find the only weapon powerful enough to keep the creatures of darkness at bay: the fabled Sword of Shannara.
THE SWORD OF SHANNARA is the first volume of the classic series that has become one of the most popular fantasy tales of all time. A masterful work from a master storyteller.
The Shannara tales are truly an Epic story easily on a par with Tolkien. From evil beyond compare to strong hearts and stronger deeds, this will keep you on the edge of your seat from first to last. A must!
I'm a big fan of fantasy settings but this brought nothing new to the table. It's like tolkeins ideas had been taken and simply made worse, a lot worse, terrible in fact. If Tolkien were alive he'd slap you silly for reading this book!
The characters are about as interesting as watching paint dry and there are so many contradictions at the most fundamental levels I found myself laughing out loud at how poorly this book is written. Save your self some time and some money and do ANYTHING. Other than read this book
