About the author
Lauren Weisberger is the author of The Devil Wears Prada, which spent more than a year on the New York Times hardcover and paperback bestseller lists, and became an iconic film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. This novel gives a very warm welcome-back to one of our favourite characters from The Devil Wears Prada. When we first met Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt in the film adaptation), she was the venomous assistant to Miranda Priestly with “a job a million girls would die for”. Years later she has another role many would covet, but Runway magazine is a mere CV footnote. We rejoin our anti-heroine in the glamorous suburbs of New York City, where she's an overachieving image consultant with a swoon-worthy husband and an impeccable reputation to uphold. Lauren Weisberger’s portraits of Charlton and her determined frenemies are deliciously relatable and consistently laugh-out-loud funny.

Keeps you interested and guessing all the way though yet chick flick enough to make me want to read it

Mindless, easy read. Descriptive, familiar characters, the story gives you enough to leave you craving for more.
I’ve only watched the DWP film and then read this book not knowing it was the same author so perhaps it’s just a puzzle of the story. Otherwise not the best as a stand-alone novel.
