APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Thirty Things I Love About Myself is shot through with good humour and optimism. Though it tackles difficult subjects, from racism and online abuse to serious mental-health struggles, the novel is buoyant, a story full of heart. Turning 30 in a jail cell with only a self-help book for company, Nina Mistry knows she needs to change her life. So begins a year of learning to love herself, seeing life’s challenges in a fresh light, and approaching others in new ways. They include new friends she never would have imagined getting to know and old friends who are drifting away; the ex she can’t quite let go; her perfectionist mother; and her beloved brother, whose depression is making his life hard to bear. Readers may well be inspired to follow suit.

A journey
I’m ashamed to say I haven’t read a full novel in a few years… this was the first one I’ve read cover to cover and in under three days.
The story inspired me, made me cringe, made me cry, made me laugh. It was the first novel I’ve read with an Asian protagonist and it was so refreshing. I learned a lot about British Asian culture and the challenges faced in that community.
The Alejandro storyline was fantastic, the bay leaf had me howling, and the channel 4 TV show storyline was INSANE, but I kept reading.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for writing this incredible book! Just as I thought life was and would get the better of me, almost giving in to my demons, I come across this. It’s going to change my life
You’re very very inspirational
