Publisher Description
A killing without mercy. A crime with no motive. A thriller from the author of LAST FLIGHT TO STALINGRAD
Three random killings. Or something much, much worse?
DS Jimmy Suttle is trying to get his life back on track. His marriage has fallen apart and he rarely sees his young daughter, Grace. But then a murder shuts the door on the chaos of his personal life...
The victim was shot through the head at the wheel of his car on a lonely moorland road. The only witness? His two-year-old son, strapped into the rear child seat. Within days, two more killings, equally professional, equally without motive.
Meanwhile, Suttle's estranged wife is embarking on an investigation of her own in the world of journalism. But the story brings her to the question at the very heart of Jimmy's case - what does it take to make a man kill?

Touching Distance
As ever Graham Hurley gets into the gristle of life and human nature. The disappointment people feel when life deals them a losing hand is well represented. This is an exciting story that moves on quickly.
Great Read!
Graham Hurley has produced a great story with Touching Distance. The detail is forensic and his knowledge of procedures leaves the reader in no doubt that the author is telling us how this stuff really happens. He has got into the Royal Marine mindset and has created some incredibly persuasive characters. Views on Afghanistan are complex and multilayered, subjective and objective depending upon the time, place and individual. Hurley has understood this dichotomy and leaves us to make up our own mind rather than preaching. It is a balanced presentation. That he has created people we can loathe and admire in equal measure is a real gift and balances the methodical and relentless pace of the criminal investigation, which drives the story to its compelling finale. His enduring characters, D/S Suttle and Lizzie are complex and deep, they certainly do not conform to our expectations. I read Touching Distance over the course of a weekend, it was a compulsive read and left me wanting to read more ofGraham Hurley's books..
