_____________

In a ruined and hostile landscape, in a future few have been unlucky enough to survive, a community exists in a giant underground silo.

Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full of rules and regulations, of secrets and lies.

To live, you must follow the rules. But some don't. These are the dangerous ones; these are the people who dare to hope and dream, and who infect others with their optimism.

Their punishment is simple and deadly. They are allowed outside.

Jules is one of these people. She may well be the last.

Brilliant read. Lots of surprises in the book . The characters are all believable. Loved it

Great premise, but lost momentum for me in the final stretch

I ended up DNFing this at around 75%, but I still had a genuinely good time with most of it.

The premise is fantastic, the mystery hooked me immediately, and I was very invested in Juliette and the world-building for a large portion of the book. There were several moments where I genuinely couldn’t wait to find out what was going on.

Unfortunately, once the major reveals landed, the story lost a lot of momentum for me. The final section shifted away from the mystery-driven pacing that had kept me engaged, and I found myself increasingly bored rather than excited to continue.

That said, I don’t regret reading it at all—it was a fun ride overall, and I’m glad I experienced most of it even if I chose not to finish.

Final verdict: Great concept, strong start, but the final act lost the magic for me.
