On the opening day of the 2010-2011 National Football League (NFL) season, the Philadelphia Eagles played the Green Bay Packers at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Midway through the second period, two Eagles players suffered concussions. Quarterback Kevin Kolb was slammed head-first into the turf by Packers' linebacker Clay Matthews, and shortly afterward Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley was accidentally hit in the head by a teammate's thigh.
