Bittersweet

Celeste was done. She was done from being drugged and forced to be moved and not having any say. She has given everything Joel has demanded from her. She was scared of not knowing where he was or when he was going to return.

He moved her to a place on top of a mountain. When she woke, her fear put her into the path of another monster, but she forgot about him when Joel arrived the next day. All she wanted was the hold him and make sure he was okay, but the blood he was covered in was too real for her. For him to confess Jacob was dead and he was mad because Jacob did not fight back, Celeste reverted to her own anger.

The Zen house was supposed to bring them peace. Everywhere he turned, there was no peace. Everyone was breaking. As Joel dealt with Frankie, Erik, and Isaac, Celeste lived in her own world. They were broken. Henry warned him this would happen if he didn't start trusting her. He was living a double life. How can he be an officer in the army, investigating a human trafficking and prostitute rings alongside someone that was keeping secrets from him still?

It wasn't helping his emotions as Celeste and Henry became friends. It was his fault. He did this. Slowly he gives in and lets her in and for his reward; she becomes more open for his sexual desires.

As the connect the dots, Joel helps Celeste let go of her fears of sexual lust, but even in their most private affairs, Joel is knocked down by breaking a clasp within Celeste.

Next thing he knows, Henry has her in a crude operating room with her cut open. As terrible as that is, his worst nightmare becomes reality. Celeste is pregnant. The chances of her carrying were slim to none.

Joel's heartache hasn't even peeked. As Celeste recovers, they are attacked by their own army. Joel has exposed high-end generals as a part of the leadership of human trafficking ring. Risking Celeste's and the babies' lives they are once again, forced to flee. Now that he knows who the players are, he was going to kill them all.
