Depleted

Joel should feel blessed. He had a beautiful wife that was risking her life to have their children. His team had overcome one of their hardest battles so far, and life was calm. He wasn't. General Kelly was pushing too hard for Joel to relax. That meant Adams was nervous.

Joel had locked up Grayson and Adams four months ago. The strikes the president, his father called was starting to ebb off the news. Celeste was beginning to nest. Henry's warning about Celeste not being able to carry full term was starting to weight on his nerves. There were things she needed to do before he put her on bedrest.

Bittersweet had taken some hits in the last year and Celeste needed to deal with her business. Henry was finding problems within her business, but he wanted her to figure it out. The most important meeting he needed Celeste to have, was between her, Danny and Erik. She needed closure. He knew they would be leaving soon.

Somehow Celeste lost her fight. When he received the call Nathan and Nunez were hiding out in DC. He had to get Celeste out of town. They left just in time. Now back at the base, Joel and Celeste knew everything was coming to an end as the final pieces began to shift together.

There is one more piece he has to tell Celeste. It is his biggest secret. The reason for staying in the army, the reason he pushed to be as strong as he could be because Daya Night was his next target now that he brought down the core of human trafficking ring. She was the last bit of information he had to tell Celeste. She had to know how close he came to losing her before he met her.

On cue, hell broke loose on them and Celeste ended up in emergency delivery. This time, there were two more lives at stake and Joel was breaking. Because Nunez was not satisfied with his life, he had destroyed countless others, including Celeste's. Celeste wasn't his only emotional drain. Daya almost killed Celeste. Nunez and Nathan were coming at him in the dirtiest ways. It was Vincent his third in command. A man he had trusted and relied on for years. Someone he would have died for had stabbed him in the back and never said anything. So many times he had covered for Vincent. It meant nothing now. Still, he had a bigger problem; his father, the president was dirty. He didn't have enough proof, but he would.

As Nathan and Nunez unleashed on the base, Joel fought back. Between the army, air, and sea, a mountain was leveled to expose the horror within. Joel's only concern was Celeste and their babies. As the bombs fall all over the base, Joel does what he never wanted to do, send Celeste away. She wasn't alone. Half of his second and third teams were with her.

Hours pass and Joel is losing his mind. Celeste should have reached the Zen house by now. There has been no contact. It had been one thing when he was in the field killing everything to release his emotions, but now, it was all he could think about. He was positive; he was going to kill them all.
