A quiet lakeside town in the Adirondacks is ripped open when a young coed, Dana Shelly, is kidnapped from her stepmother's lakefront home. Her adoptive mother, Tara Kaneko, a high-end internet security specialist, and close friend and neighbor, Denny Corning, scramble to find her while confronting an extortion plot that entangles them in a financial heist and a shocking murder of a local ski bum.
